Build Your Own Local Advertising Plan – And Everything In Between

Your advertising. Your areas. Your schedule. Your strategy. Direct To Neighbor puts you in control with a completely DIY, self-serve process.

Choose Your Advertising Area

Don’t Compete With Your Competition

Why pay to put your business in a publication that may put two or three of your direct competitors right beside you? If you’re a plumber, you shouldn’t have to compete for attention against three other plumbers on the same mailer.
Only one business from each industry or business category per issue and area.

Once your category is reserved, another business in that category cannot purchase an ad in that issue and area. All advertising spaces are the same 3″ × 3″ size, so nobody can simply buy a bigger ad to overpower yours. Rest easy knowing you’re the only business from your category in that issue. That’s advertising money better spent.

Reserve Early. Change Your Offer Later.

Planning ahead doesn’t mean you have to know today what your offer will be six months from now. Reserve your advertising space and protect your category early. As the publication date gets closer, you can change your offer, promotion, wording or other ad information. Changes are due by the 20th of the month preceding publication. For example, changes for the July/August issue are due June 20.

Secure the space now. Fine-tune the message later.

Map Out Your Entire Advertising Year

Direct To Neighbor publishes six issues per year, with each issue covering two months. Buy one issue, several issues, or map out your entire year.

Plan around seasonal promotions, holidays, busy seasons, slow periods, new services, special events, grand openings and annual sales. You can plan the space a year ahead without having to plan every offer a year ahead. Plan it. Reserve it. Adjust it. Run it.

Be Proactive – Or Be Strategic

Reserve the issues where you know you want to promote your business. Or reserve additional issues because you don’t want your competition advertising there. Your advertising calendar can become part of your competitive strategy.

Try Different Areas

Keep advertising in your primary market while testing another community. Run the same offer in several areas or test different offers. You control where your advertising goes.

Your 3″ × 3″ Ad. Make It Yours.

Every advertiser receives a 3″ × 3″ advertising space. The QR-code area is 1.25″ × 1.25″. Beyond that, make your ad what you want. Promote a service, feature a product, offer a discount, introduce your business, highlight an event, or make a bold offer. Make it yourself or give us your business information, logo and offer and we’ll make it for you.

Your Ad Is Only The Beginning

There’s only so much you can say in three inches. That’s where your QR code and landing page come in. Qualifying advertising packages include a landing page connected to your QR code.

Put multiple offers on it. Show your work. Add before-and-after photos, testimonials, awards, videos, products, services and contact information. Brag about yourself and your wins. Your printed ad gets attention; your landing page can tell the rest of the story.

Completely DIY & Self-Serve

  1. Choose Your Area. Decide which community you want to reach.
  2. Choose Your Issue. Select one or more of the six two-month advertising periods.
  3. Reserve Your Business Category. Once purchased for that issue and area, a competing business in that category cannot take the spot.
  4. Create Your Ad – Or Let Us. Make your own 3″ × 3″ ad or give us the information and we’ll create it.
  5. Use Your QR Code & Landing Page. Give customers much more information than fits in the printed space.
  6. Change Your Offer. Update your material by the 20th of the month preceding publication.
  7. Do It Again. Try another area, reserve another issue, or map out the entire year.
You build the plan. We handle the printing and delivery.
